Burlington Office

Alan L. Visnick PT, OMT, LAT,C

Alan is the Director of Treatment and a principle at Orthopaedics Plus. A graduate of Boston University in Physical Therapy in 1984 and Human Movement in 1987, he is an Associate Program Director at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy www.iomtwoburn.com and is a Full Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

In addition to his manual therapy background, Alan is also a Licensed Athletic Trainer and was formerly the Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer for Boston University's Ice Hockey and Football teams.

Judy Antonelli PT

Judy is a 1984 graduate of the University of Lowell and has been treating orthopedic, spine and sports injury patients at Orthopaedics Plus since 1987. She completed the one-year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 1998.

Stephen Sarro PT, OMT

Steve, a 1991 University of Lowell graduate, is the WORKSENSE www.worksense.org coordinator at Orthopaedics Plus. Those duties include treating and overseeing the care of work injury patients, performing Functional Capacity Evaluations, performing onsite workplace evaluations and delivering injury prevention programs.

Steve completed his manual therapy fellowship at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 1998 after two years of training and is a Full Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. In addition to these accomplishments, Steve works with the sports injuries of fellow swimmers and triathletes and is active with the Orthopaedics Plus sponsored TriFury triathlon team www.trifury.com.

Todd Swango, MPT

Todd earned his Masters of Physical Therapy degree, from Saint Louis University in 2001. He completed the two-year Fellowship Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2004 and is a Full Fellow of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.

In addition to his normal caseload, Todd has a special interest in working with sports injuries of his fellow soccer players.

Cherie Hamelin, DPT

Cherie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, in 2006. In addition, she holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy that she earned at Qunnipiac University in 2004. Cherie will complete the first year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2007.

Beverly Office

Ellen Poveromo PT, MTC

Ellen, a 1984 graduate of Simmons College, is the Director of Treatment at Orthopaedics Plus in Beverly. Ellen received her Manual Therapy Certification in 1991 from the Institute of Graduate Physical Therapy and has been practicing on the North Shore for her entire career.

In addition to her normal caseload, Ellen also works with a variety of sports injuries, including those of her fellow distance runners.

Lee Marinko PT, OMT, OCS

Lee is a 1986 graduate of Northeastern University and begun treating patients at Orthopaedics Plus in 1989. Lee completed her manual therapy fellowship at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 1996 after two years of training. She received her Orthopedics Clinical Specialist certification from the American Physical Therapy Association www.apta.org in 1994.

Lee is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University.

Lola Gusinov PT

Lola, a 1993 graduate of Simmons College, completed the one year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2001. In addition to her orthopaedic manual therapy training, Lola also specializes in treating headaches, lymphedema, myofascial dysfunctions, incontinence and women's health issues.

Michael Stare, DPT, CSCS

Mike earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2003 at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. He holds a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University if Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mike completed the two year fellowship program in 2006 at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Upon completion of his research project on Lumbar Spine injury, he will be eligible for Full Fellowship in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.

In addition to his manual therapy and exercise backgrounds, Mike is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, has lectured extensively on health and fitness topics, and is the Director of Spectrum Fitness Consultants, LLC

Jeff Albertson, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Jeff earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2004 at the University of Montana and has
his manual therapy certification through the Institute of Physical Art, based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  Jeff has completed a 2 year fellowship program in Manual Therapy and is a full fellow of the Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Therapists.

In addition to his interest in running, swimming and soccer injuries, Jeff specializes in foot and ankle injuries as well as custom orthotic fabrication.

Kristen Poole, PT

Kristen earned her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, from Northeastern University in 2005. In addition, Kristen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Sciences while at Northeastern. Kristen completed the one-year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2006.

Amy Kelleher, PT

Amy earned her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, from Northeastern University in 1999 and her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, the preceding year. Amy completed the one-year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2006.

Barbara Simmons, PT

Barbara earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, from Northeastern University in 1989. Barbara has extensive experience in treating sports injuries and returned to Physical Therapy practice in 2006, after spending some time at home with her twins.

Stacey Heffernan, PT

Stacey earned her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, from Boston University in 2002. In addition, Stacey earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences in 2000. Stacey completed the one-year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2006.

Lauren Kelleher, DPT

Lauren earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006 from Boston University. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences in 2004. Lauren will be enrolled the first year Residency Program at The Institute of Orthopaedic manual Therapy in 2008.

Winchester Hospital/Orthopaedics Plus

William J. Antonelli, PT, OMT

William is the Director of Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy at Winchester Hospital/Orthopaedics Plus. He is also the co-founding principle of Orthopaedics Plus and a founding member and Associate Program Director of the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.

William graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Lowell in 1983 and completed a certification program in manual therapy from the Institute of Graduate Health Sciences in 1988. He has been a full fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy since 1996.

Vincent J Buscemi PT OMT

Vincent cofounded Orthopaedics Plus in 1986 and is now the Director of Physical and Occupational Therapy at Winchester Hospitals' outpatient rehabilitation facilities. Vincent's interests lie in treating complex orthopedic problems including the spine. He has particular interests in treating tennis players, running injuries and endurance athletes. He has used his knowledge to work in ergonomics and injury prevention in industry. He is a consultant to large corporations such as GE, Kraft Foods and Bayer Corporation and has established onsite ergonomics and injury prevention programs.

Vincent graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Lowell in 1983. He is a founding member and Associate Program Director of the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. He has been a full fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy since 1996.
